Loch Lomond is one of a very few natural phenomena that are
famous for being famous. The song may have something to do
with this, but even without it, the place itself has a special
quality that has always captured the imagination. The loch
holds a very special place in the hearts of many, whether
they live near of far away. What makes it so special is its
natural beauty, the diversity of its landscapes and its wildlife,
the contrast between highland and lowland, and the way the

Ardlui is situated at the Northern most point of Loch Lomond
and is near to some of the best walking routes around the
Loch, with a ferry to take you across the Loch to join up
with the West Highland Way.
Locally there are lots of small towns and villages such as
Balloch, Tarbet, Luss, Crianlarich, Arrochar and Helensburgh.
They all have there own beautiful scenery, places to visit
and things to do.
Glasgow is only 1 hour away from Ardlui and is the largest
city in Scotland. Known as the second city of the empire it
has a great history and character. Having recently won the
City of Culture award there are lots of art galleries and
museums. For the more adventurous there is the nightlife with
Glasgow having many trendy and traditional nightclubs and
pubs. If you enjoy shopping then this is the place to go with
plenty of shopping centers and lots of different shops for
everyone.
Edinburgh is the capital of Scotland and is only 2 hours
from Ardlui. It is one of the most beautiful cities in the
world. Edinburgh Castle as a backdrop is situated in the center
of the city and is a great day out. It is also a city that
oozes class and style and has something for everyone. During
August it holds the world famous Edinburgh Festival and Tattoo.
Boating
Loch Lomond has always had a tradition of boating, the Loch
has been used by people wanting to enjoy the area from the
water, for many years. We have a day boat available to hire
from Ardlui which holds up to 5 persons. Please contact

Walking/Climbing/Cycling
There are walks and cycle paths along the lochside and numerous
hill and forest walks in the surrounding area with climbing
for the more adventurous close at hand.
Fishing
The fishing is one of the best in Scotland, with Loch Lomond
containing salmon, sea trout, brown trout and is legendary
for it's pike, being one of Scotland's premier pike waters.

There are 16 local golf courses that give you a feast of opportunities
